Experience

 

I began my career in the restaurant industry at the age of 13 in the position that many of us

start – dishwasher. I came up “through the ranks” of our family business taking over control of all operations beginning in 1985 and continuing until 2006. I made the move from the restaurateur side to the vendor side of our industry in 2006.

 

As a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area and an active member of the local restaurant community, I have been involved with a variety of organizations. Some of these include the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association, the Kansas City Health Department Food Protection Advisory Board,  the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association (Board of Director member 1994 to present, President 2004) the Missouri Restaurant Association (Board of Director member and Treasurer 2005-2006) and the 39^th Street Business Association as one of the members that took that small association (with an annual budget of $2500) and formed the 39^th Street Community Improvement District (a seven year project that resulted in one of the first sales tax funded CIDs in the State of Missouri with an annual budget of over $145,000). I feel that my background is a great asset in my current work, enabling me to act more as a “consultant” than a sales executive.
